Tramper newbie needs advice
Hello there ,
I would like to go on a tramping through the whole south Island from end of Februar until end of April.
I am not sure which tent I should buy could I go with the lighter and cheaper Ranger 1 or do I need the extra quality of the Kiwi Camping tent?

Cheers and thanks for any advice

Interesting about the lack of a vestible. Of course with a fly you can cook under shelter but if there were winds, it would need to be pitched lower as Ian_H had his on Stewart Island recently.
Frank and I camped in a storm on the Tin Range one time and I managed to cook outside in the rain but then again, I was running an MSR Whisperlite. Of course the pot will shelter a little gas canister stove from the rain.
