Family tents?

Not quite tramping, but does anyone have recommendations on family sized tents for car-based camping? Two or three rooms, to fit a family of 4 or 5, when the kids get bigger they will be kicked out into the tramping tents :-) Hoping not to spend the earth (I see Wilderness has one for $5000), but want something that will stay dry(ish) in a bit of rain, and last a number of years...

We had a GO Duo240 for about 8 years and it did well but when the proofing failed it was time to change. I replaced it with a Warehouse tent but it hasnt been used in anger yet.
The domes are a lot cheaper and lighter but really have a life expectancy around 5 years. Make sure they use polyester for the fly.
Frame tents are heavy and expensive and bulky. Make sure they use a poly cotton canvas. As long as you dry them they should last up to 20 years

+1 for Kathmandu. Wait for the sales, of course :) They're tidy and of a good standard.
If you're in Wellington, take a look at Dwight's Outdoors (formerly Dwight canvas). They do light weight (relatively) family tents out of tramping tent material rather than heavy canvas. I got my 4 man 20kg base camp tent from there. Fits 3 single mattresses in the bedroom and almost equal sized front room. Full standing height. And light enough to carry a distance. Has stood up to a few Central Otago NWERS but wouldn't pitch it on the tops !
