No doubt about it Cactus make bombproof gear, but unless you want a lug it all expedition climbing pack then 40 litres is a good size for overnight or 2 day excursions. You could take it back to Cactus and get them to put on ice tool loops (or better still a pick pocket and retainers) and sew a handful of gear loops for a crampon bungy on the back. Maybe a basic hip belt as well, but if your planning to use it with a climbing harness then you could go without. But after all that I don't know anyone who climbs with one so maybe they don't carry well across vertical terrain. The Miklat has the durability for being bashed around but lacks any technical features. You really want them to turn it into a variation of a Patrol for you. Maybe it won't cost too much they're a decent bunch in there. Then again are you looking for a bigger technical pack?

Yeah I understand all that, just wasn't totally what i was looking for. Definitely more for hunters. $175 is a steal for someone!
