Long cut waterproof jackets

I used to wear a longline parka in the 80's and apart from the stink, it was a great jacket… no wet shorts. The three I'm considering are: 1. Earth Sea Sky Hydrophobia Jacket (Entrant D-EV) 2. Macpac Resolution XPD AP (Pertex Shield AP) 3. Macpac Copland (Reflex) Finding reviews on these jackets is thin on the ground so maybe there are members here who own a jacket from this list and can give some feedback? (Pros and cons) Much appreciated!

My latest rainwear was bought with style & weight in mind, leaving me with wet shorts when my pack pulls up the already short coat .Being of Scottish heritage,I came up with a solution-I had an old pair of overtrou, which I`d replaced due to their lack of ankle zips.I cut them down to just-above -the-knee shorts!Okay,I`ve gained 200 grams but a dry exhaust. It`s where the mods & rockers met the turkey-tramper.
@Lewshaw - turn your internal mail on ?. Go to 'Profile-edit profile-preferences'. I've copped some Forum flak for cutting coat sleeves at the elbow. I've gone to instant-dry shorts & grots (as near as damn-it) but long-shorts rain over-trousers is brilliant !!! Leading edge ! http://tramper.nz/files/member/medium/11679.jpg
I still keep my long overtrou,so the short ones are an extra. The bonus is,I wear them on their own. With coats, when it`s persisting down;if you`re grinding up a hill with a load on,just pick how you wanna be wet;from the outside or inside from sweat. If tramping was too sweet, the hills would be chokka block!
Doesn't matter how long your coat is, it's still going to run down your legs and fill ya boots.
Ah ! Can I interest you in some DexShell waterproof sox & neoprene gaiters ?. Straight off the shelves at your local H&F store.
Been wanting to get neoprene gaiters for ages
I have a pair. Don't know what possessed me to get them as they are clammy, weigh a ton when wet and don't stop the river pouring in over the top or your boot any better than a nylon gaiter. Better insulation and more robust however...
I used gaiters once. Ill pass on them in general now.
