Hey, thanks for the info guys. A Hilleburg is pretty much my dream tent. If I had all the money I needed to throw around on gear, a Hilleburg would be at the top of the list. It's kinda the Rolls Royce of tents. Unfortunately, I drive a Mitsubishi. And my income/lifestyle reflect accordingly. I'd love to have the Rolls Royce of tents, but.... Anyway, I'll check in regularly to see what you've got. Maybe I can save for next year or year after's epic tramping event..... :)
Thanks for the positive feedback, we believe they are the Rolls Royce of tents too, we use them ourselves and love them. We are certainly pleased to be able to offer them in New Zealand Cheers Paul

Hi Sorry I didn't get notification of this email, I will check my settings. We are more than just a supplier, we use the tents ourselves and love them, we have a Keron 4 GT which we use in the truck and I use a Nallo 2 on my Bike so we can speak from a user's point of view. Yes the Akto is a 4 season tent, several specs determine this. 1) The outer fly goes all the way to the ground preventing cold wind, rain and snow being blown underneath between the out fly and inner tent, this is your first line of defence in bad weather. 2) The inner tent door is two layer so you have the insect mesh and the wind stop panel (zipable) which effectively makes all the walls the same fabric offering wind stop and water resistance. 3) The continuous pole sleeve adds a lot of stability to the tent in high winds and increases the snow load capacity. These features combined with Hillebergs Triple silicon coated fabric which is extremely strong all add up to a 4 season tent that will take punishment. if you would like a 2015 catalogue let me know and I can post one up for you. Cheers Paul
Checked the web-site. Well, the tents description in camping gear really miss a number of things, or it's not obviously visible (which is pretty much the same issue) What is material of poles? What is water protection level of outer tent/botTom? PS. Comparing to the Russian prices of probably similar gear, those I see are crazy... 5x times higher. Really hard to identify does the quality differ so much? http://normal.ru/katalog/the49.html
Hi We have a link on each of the tent pages to click on which has a lot more technical information, see below, this is above the video and above the pictures http://www.motomox.co.nz/shop/page.php?page=12 Poles are 9mm or 10mm Seamless DAC poles depending on the model of the tent, all Hilleberg poles are swaged up at the joins with inserts, this makes a 9mm pole diameter a minimum of 9mm, not 9mm swaged down to fit the next pole which is weaker. Water protection outer is between 1500mm and 3000mm, however this figure on its own is nothing without the tear strength to back it up and with Hillebergs Triple Silicon Ripstop Nylon it is extremely strong. You cannot rip this with your hands. Water protection from floor is between 5000mm and 10,000mm The price difference is in the construction and materials like DAC poles and silicon ripstop Nylon, plus the huge benefit of continuous pole sleeve on the outside of the tent, this system also allows you to set up in the rain keeping the tent inner dry, this system also allows you to remove the tent inner in bad weather and pack it into a dry bag and then later on re pitching the outer as per normal and then hanging the inner completely dry. Comparing different brands across different countries and different currencies is a nightmare and certainly not a reliable way to compare products, if it’s a price comparison china will win everytime. The best thing is to go to tent reviews and you will find Hilleberg are rated very highly http://www.outdoorgearlab.com/Backpacking-Tent-Reviews Let me know if I can be of anymore help Cheers Paul
