Major update 28 October

Hi everybody, I plan to roll out a large update tomorrow that has been in development since June. Key elements are: * A new look -- modernised. * wider 3-column layout -- designed to 1024 pixels width instead of 800. * Better layout for information pages -- these pages have had a lot of work and are looking far more exciting. * New rendering infrastructure that allows for greater design flexibility (this means more variety). Features NOT included: * support for new Topo50 maps; * better image uploading; * email notification on forums. While the above features are not included, they are important, and I can start working on new features once this roll out is complete. The first priority will be Topo50 support. Please let me know if you strike any problems. Matthew

Great update thanks Mathew! Hate to be the one to find a glitch but I click on the You (Me) tab and I get the home page? ie I cant find my profile? This could be 'user error' though!
Dont worry, if I click on my photo I find it. LOVE the personal stats down the side, now I can see how far Ive walked, wicked!!
Thanks for spotting the bug. I'll sort that out. :-) I thought the stats might be fun!
Regarding the stats page.... is there a way to change/delete the tracks walked there? I cant get my head around how the date system works for entering when a track was walked, and thus I have multiple entries for the same track which I would like to delete.
To change or delete, just click through to the track then look at the controls panel at left. To enter a date such as December 2008, just type exactly that. Don't put a line break or a comma in though. If you think it's not working correctly, let me know exactly what you are typing.
Ahhh that was my problem, I was putting a comma between the month and the year. Many thanks!
rockin! great work on the redesign matthew, specially like the nice touch in the explore > people section where the profile pics change.
Thanks for all the positive feedback! At the moment I'm working on adding support for the new NZTopo50 maps. This will take a little time as it involves working through mathematics like this... http://www.linz.govt.nz/geodetic/conversion-coordinates/projection-conversions/transverse-mercator-preliminary-computations/index.aspx#lbl3 ...which is really not too difficult but very easy to get subtly wrong.
By the way, you can now view NZ Tramper photos within Cooliris. The feed to use is this one: http://tramper.co.nz/?view=featurephoto.rss Cooliris is available for Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, iPhone, and even iGoogle. More details to come. Rather a gimmick, but it's fun to scroll through the new photos by tilting my iPod touch! :-)
Just another little glitch. I am trying to add that I have visited some huts. When I click on "Visted this hut" it just goes to the top of the page.
