Trekking at altitude
My lady and I are off to Peru in august to trek in the Cordillera Huayhuash and do an attempt at Climbing Mt. Pisco,the Huayhuash trek takes us to 4800m and the climb to 5750m.It will be our first time hiking at altitude and are interested in any comments on how to prepare for this trip or anything than can give us an edge, cheers.
Yes, in Auckland you can get preparation in the form of special breathing practice from some sports medicine people, ask the Uni Dept of Sports Science people, Dr Walt used it.
