Isotonic drinks or additives

I think someone mentioned this a few months back, that is an additive to add to water to help when tramping. Does anyone know what works well. There was a recipe in Wilderness Magazine I might try. Anyone have any advice on this?

cytomax is great stuff, i use it for cycling and occasionally for tramping, leppin enduro booster is also good too, or for a good hit the leppin squeezies are excellent for keeping up the energy
Definitely Powerade powder. I love having the lemon one hot at the end of the day - I can notice the difference - no cramps the next day!
Definitely Nuun. Easy to use tablets, no mess. They are electrolytes meaning no cramps. I get mine from a bike website www.bodyandbike.co.nz, also got some merino garments from them.
Horleys Replace powder works. The lime flavor. Although I have seen some Electrolite tablets in a health shop and would like to try them. Has anyone tried them? They were so tiny I wondered if there was enough in them to work.
Possibly not isotonic, but a drink all the same - someone has started bottling wine in plastic bottles. Weighs a lot less than a bottle, so maybe a good option for the tramping winos out there. It would crush down after and hopefully would encourage people to take the bottle home instead of leaving endless bottles in huts as candle holders.
You could always do it properly and go with dehydrated wine. http://www.trekneat.com/en/trekn-eat-products/products/katadynshopconnect/trekn-eat-wein/tne-getr228nkepulver-typ-rotwein-2-dl/ Or if you're a traditionalist, maybe just the wine in a can. http://wineinacan.com/
