Merino vs Polypro thermals
With my set of merino thermals hanging off me (no elbows, no knees, no butt, shoulders down to threads) it has become time to get a new set, or two.
Begs the question, Merino or Polypro? I understand both have their strengths and weaknesses.
What do people recommend and why?

The fuzzy nature of apricot skin is the essence of pure evil. Peach skin is significantly worst then apricot skin. I refuse to pick up peaches to avoid contact.
Once the skin has been removed they are delicious.
I know of one other person who can not stand that sensation. So its not me being extra crazy.
Did a Google search and found more examples of people who can not stand that sensation

I agree, velvet is the material of the devil.
It even gets mentioned in a book :) , it is discussed in the section entiled Aversions.

The people who are scared of buttons are just weird.....
Militaris, I understand your pain. For me sleeping (or at least attempting to) on flannelette sheets is torture.
I don't know about these sensations but I do know that I seem to be the only person around who can eat a kiwifruit with the skin on. People watch me in horror as I do it.
Mind you, this is the same person who will go tramping in shorts and come home bleeding and covered in scratches but not have any idea when or where all this happened.
No brain, no pain I guess.
Peeling kiwifruit seem slike such a waste of time. I'm like you, straight down!
This Peach/apricot/Velvet aversion is new to me, and I don't quite get it.
How do you feel about Velour?
I do not know what Velour exactly is so can not comment on the sensation it causes.
I just cut kiwi fruit in half then scoop out the inners with a spoon... If no spoon I just rip them about and peel the flesh from the skin with my teeth. I also eat feijoas the same way.
I am troubled by apricots -- can't handle the fur, but I do love the processed form. I like to eat bananas with the skin on to make kids laugh. It's much easier than you'd think.
And velour is what you get on car seats, right?
Bananas with the skin on.. Yukk! Now you have found my limit. Those things are all fibre, not even my wastemaster can handle them. There must be a ball of string in your stomach.
Matthew lives in Christchurch what can one say,my cousin lives in Belfast,Christchurch and she does strange things as well
Velour is a cotton or synthetic velvet substitute. Famous for being soft and getting stinky real quick.
