Snaring
I understand rabbits are a pest in New Zealand, is snaring of rabbits allowed?

Maybe I should post this in FOOD, because I snare to eat. It is healthy (as long as the population isn't poisoned or infected) and saves some weight and volume in your pack. Though I enjoy snaring, it's not for recreation...
You can catch rabbits by any means you want. However the method will have to be Humane otherwise some quangos will come down on you. As to it being healthy. I doubt you can really say that. Can you guarantee the health of a wild animal? Many Rabbits have considerable disease, with Hydatids being rife (amongst others). It's one of the reasons that they are declared a pest. However, it's your skin.
