GPS support

I think GPS intergration is a great idea. I belive that GPX is the most suitable as it is designed for this purpose(its full name is GPS exchange file) and is used by most, if not all GPS programs. I think the upload of gps tracks for personal trips and actual tracks should be kept seperate so that the actual tracks have croped and clean Gps tracks to avoid confusion. Also the inclusion of the gps model used and a small note on the performance of the GPS on the day of use should also be included.

Around Auckland, and even in the South Island on Summer trips, I am surprised to have seen little use of the GPS, although I use it occasionally. Mostly in the bush it doesn't go well and even in the open I've seen experienced trampers not taking their GPS. In spite of the low use rate for gps, I support your aim of uploading GPX files, if not too much trouble.

I am all for more GPS support. Ability to upload and download tracks, waypoints etc. I do this myself already on http://www.giscover.com though the site is Italian and I am about the only NZ contributor. Another site of interest is http://www.zenbu.co.nz He has just used the Official Information Act to get up to date data on NZ Huts and Campsites. From what I see of his data it is the best I have seen yet.

GPX support has been added. It's nice to see people using it. It's rudimentary at present. I intend to add live display of GPX data onto Google Maps. Is there anything else you'd like?
