Avalanche risk at the Cannibal Gorge end. It's a bit narrow & the mountains are steep. Take care.
Also, you can get a lot of downed tree damage and some of the track gets muddy (particularly the Boyles Flat end) as some of it's re-claimed farm land.
Otherwise, probably the most scenic time to do it. The huts are goods quality & well spaced.
