weeknd tramps from ashburton

Go alone, get amongst it. Here are some easy hikes I have done alone in one day close to ashburton and there are many more that I have not written up yet so just ask if you need some ideas. http://climbnz.org.nz/nz/si/canterbury/mt-hutt-range/mt-hutt/little-river-route http://climbnz.org.nz/mt-taylor/from-woolshed-creek-hut
not everyone wants to go on there own for as many reasons that some want to go on there own. Chriso is asking for someone to go with him. He might not be willing or able to go alone. Also looking quickly at those routes they appear to be not for people new to the hobby.
I would possibly look at doing a Old Man Peak-Mt Taylor traverse with him. The new conservation area up the rakaia is really really nice. If you haven't been then go.
Exactly what geeves said, im looking for someone to go with not places to go got heaps of options there.
But thanks for the links matt
There is a local tramping group in your area. I came across its website when surfing recently, sorry cant remember the name. If a group fills your boots you should track down some details, check with your local council or public libraries (they usually have the info) or search online.
I told him i would go with him, he may just have to harden up a touch.
SOMETIMES there comes a pint where people are going so far out of their comfort zones its counter productive to continue, each to their own, thers limits to how much people can harden up, it may work out, in case all good, or someone may have to back track, thats life, we have to make and stand by our own decisions in the outdoors according to our limitations at that time
Jesus! How about dialing back the bravado a couple of notches, mattski, it's getting very tiresome.
