Looking for the right tracks

Around May I’m going to New Zealand for a year. While I’m there I want to do a lot of tramping. What I’m looking for are long tramps (say, 5 days or more) that are not necessarily hard, but that require a lot of navigation by map and compass. I want to train my navigation skills and therefore I’m not just looking for the right tracks, but also for people who know their navigation and who’d like to go on a tramp with me. After all, if I do need to practice more, I don’t want to find that out because I get badly lost… Another thing I want to practice are my bushcraft skills. For that purpose (very) long tracks through forests where I can set up camp (maybe even for a few days) are ideal. So! Any advice on both kinds of tramps is welcome. And if you’d like to join me, let me know. Location or time of year doesn’t matter to me. For now I’m just checking out possibilities. Thanks! Gerben (The Netherlands)
