snow in summer
just goes to show how overseas trampers can get caught in nz 15th of jan in the middle of our summer and they have snow down south wonder how many got caught out in that lot
probably not heavy enough to affect anyone.
news showed kids running sleds down Corenet peak. Anyone on the tops without suitable clothing would of had a bit of a surprise. Probably not fatal but most unpleasant all the same. I love snow but its not a place to be in t shirt and shorts.
Some people wonder why the fleece trousers are in my pack even in summer on a lowland walk. I point to weather news like this.
I was down there both previous Xmas's and saw snow both times. Its not that unusual
