Mangahao Flats Hut
Could anyone please advise if Roaring creek is crossable in heavy rain?
It’s the only unbridged stream on this track and the weather outlook for Sunday doesn’t look too good.
Thanks in advance!

Cant tell you specifically but if the lake is low walking up the gravel flats is quicker than the track as far as the swing bridge over the river. The lake level is controlled by the power station. Ive only been there twice and I dont remember any significant streams.
However I have been turned back by the first stream on the Burn Hut Track which is unnamed and normally nothing. 2 1/2 hour drive 10 minute walk 5 minute discussion 10 minute walk out 2 1/2 hour drive home.
