Green Lake Hut from Borland Road
Keen for any advice on the actual track condition.
Starting to get more adventurous with our 5 year old, and wondering if other trampers would consider the track ok for this age? I think he'll manage the distance (6-7km) and elevation gain ok (having done some tramps with 300m vertical gain). But the actual track is probably the biggest factor eg slippery or boggy sections, having to use tree roots to clamber up big steps?
I'm also not sure if the weather system at the start of the month did any track damage?
Thanks in advance for any advice
Andrea
Walked it early March 2022 and it is a good entry level overnighter. About 3 walking hours to reach the hut, and nice birdlife along the way.
The climbs and drops are not overly steep, but some of the grassy sections could be very boggy after recent rain.
