Waitawheta Hut - Tramway walk

Hi Folks. Will be attempting the above walk with my family next weekend. Looking for a little insight on the following: 1. Are the river crossings deep (will have a 7 year old with me) 2. The hut is full, so we plan on tenting for the night next to the hut- is that advisable? 3. Are there any tips/tricks to get the most out of the trip? 4. What is the parking situation, I see a few folks were broken in to over christmas. was that an isolated incident? Thanks
*Are the river crossings deep (will have a 7 year old with me)* From memory all river crossings are either bridged or there was an alternative high-water track. In normal flow it is pretty easy to cross. *The hut is full, so we plan on tenting for the night next to the hut- is that advisable?* There is plenty of camping around the hut. *What is the parking situation, I see a few folks were broken in to over christmas. was that an isolated incident?* Don't know. Only been there once.
