Looking for a tramping partner.

Hi everyone. I plan to do tramping at Tongariro Alpine Crossing. I have average fitness and I'm constantly building on this. Most of my mates are more about walking around the block than anything off a footpath. I'm pretty open to when I could make this trip. I'm hoping to make more trips as time allows. Feel free to make any suggestions. I'm reading more information just to see how to get there.
How frequently are you interested in hiking? Where are you based? I'm looking at getting out more but it's hard to be motivated without a partner.
