Mokai Patea Range

I'm planning a tramp that will take in the track from Wakelings to Crow huts. I've been told that coming off the range and starting to head down to Crow, the track is not easy to find in the leatherwood. Anyone with an idea of what I should be looking out for, their input is much appreciated.
Hey Dutchman. I haven't been in there for about 4 years but from memory it is poled across the tops so you shouldn't have too much difficulty.
Your right Ruahine it is poled. In the chest high tussock poles and Spaniards look very much the same. I went beyond the turn-off point and went down another spur. Wrong call - pure hell with a pack on your back. 50 meters in 1 hour crashing through leatherwood- this is bs. Retreated and camped on top of the MP Range. Crow Hut aborted- went to plan B for last third of my tramp.
Was wondering what had happened to you, saw your entry in Maropea Forks a day before us. Our route from there was Otukota, MP range, Crow, McKinnon, Waterfall... Shame you missed the track, it had been cut quite recently and thoroughly down to Crow, up the other side and down to the Kawhatau.
