Not any more! They sit in your stomach and go nowhere for a while. Whereas homemade noodles digest normally. Apparently it's the preservative that delays digestion acc. to a gastrologist.

We take soba noodles and miso for a post-tramp tea while we get on with prepping the main meal.
It might depend on the quality of noodle you buy, do you think? I haven't drilled down into the various research sources but the tone of the article suggests some sweeping generalisations are being applied.
Absolutely no issue for males; only females need be concerned - and then only if consuming 3+ times a week. I am a sceptical person but, on the face of it, not credible.
Alternatively, Hakubaku noodles (ramen, soba, somen, udon and chia soba) contain no preservatives (other than some that contain salt). Certified organic, they're tasty, convenient, good source of non-sugar cho and protein and, for me at least, low food miles as they're made in Victoria from locally grown wheat.
Japanese prefer soba cold and unadorned for breakfast
Reminds me of a Scotsman who used to have hard chunks of plain cold porridge with raisins. It was gross watching it when I was younger (I hated when porridge went cold/hard).
Now it's not so different from some of the fibre/energy bars you get nowdays
soba noodles taste much nicer than porridge, depends on the noodles though, they vary greatly in the amount of buckwheat in them, some are mainly wheat...,, the higher the buckwheat content, the nicer, almost a nutty taste
I ate it alot in Japan. Too expensive here though. Alot of very simple food over there but of the highest quality.
thats why the japanese don't flavour food as much as some countries... they go for the more subtle flavour of fresh food
the best soba are soft noodles, but they don't last. the pure buckwheat soba are overcooked easily, only cook them a few minutes, more than that, then they stick together.
I thought that was the pasta test - Throw it at the wall. If it sticks it's primo ?.
