Driving to Mars - live feed

Mike Hughes couldn't achieve lift-off, but Elon Musk spent more and SpaceX launched it's Falcon Heavy rocket on Tuesday. https://resources.stuff.co.nz/content/dam/images/1/o/9/g/5/e/image.related.StuffLandscapeSixteenByNine.620x349.1o9ehm.png/1517951227874.jpg https://static.businessinsider.com/image/5a7a32dbcdab5f33008b4956.jpg ""As its test payload, the rocket carried Elon Musk’s 2008 Tesla Roadster, complete with a dummy driver named “Starman” wearing a SpaceX spacesuit. The car is equipped with cameras, and you can watch the Roadster’s journey via a live feed."" https://youtu.be/aBr2kKAHN6M Might take a few seconds for the live feed images to come through ?. But, they're 6 months way from Mars orbit. Plenty of time to keep the UFO's-are-watching-us people distracted. ;) Hmmm. Seems to be a 2hr clip. Not exactly what I would call live ?.

If that's the case then I'd be more concerned about future humans who went out to find it again.
"“Previously launching 1kg of materials from earth to space was around $US20,000 ($25,100) plus,” Professor Saydam told Stockhead. “Elon Musk dropped this to less than $US4000 and he says he will drop it to less than $US100. “So it’s all about cost — mining is all about cost.... Falcon Heavy is the most powerful operational rocket in the world by a factor of two, with the ability to lift more than twice the payload of the next vehicle, at one-third the cost. Transporting bigger equipment into space means increased production .... NASA is planning a mission to Mars in 2032 and the initial focus will be on water-extraction to support life and to be used as fuel. “If we want to colonise off-Earth we need to extract water and we need to extract regolith to make our homes in space,” Mr Saydam said. “The first mining operation will be water extraction from asteroids or the moon.”.... The European Space Agency wants to establish a colony on the moon within the next five to 10 years."" https://www.businessinsider.com.au/elon-musk-starman-mine-planets-2018-2
Good to see the jpg pic function working again. Thanks Matthew. 10th Feb is the telescope photo of the distant Falcon Heavy payload.
Thumbs up

Space junk now ?!. On a 557 day orbit around the Sun. ""Elon Musk sent a $100K Tesla Roadster to space a year ago. It has now travelled farther than any other car in history."" ""In February of 2018, Elon Musk launched his $US100,000 Tesla Roadster into space on the SpaceXFalcon Heavy rocket. The Roadster is still cruising around our solar system on an elliptical path around the Sun. In November of 2018, the convertible made its way past Mars and will likely fly by Venus and Mercury, too. The car is too far away to see, even with the aid of a telescope. But researchers discovered that in 2091, the Roadster will likely pass close enough to Earth that we’ll be able to see it through a powerful telescope, like the Pan-STARRS telescope in Hawaii."" https://www.businessinsider.com.au/elon-musk-tesla-roadster-space-spacex-orbit-2019-2 ""SpaceX has a “go” from NASA to launch Crew Dragon, a new commercial spaceship for astronauts, on Saturday at 2:49 a.m. ET. The rocket launch won’t send any people to space, but SpaceX is launching 400 lbs of cargo and a crash-test dummy. On Thursday, SpaceX revealed the mannequin has a female body and spacesuit. It is named “Ripley” after the lead character in the “Alien” sci-fi horror movie franchise. NASA said the dummy is part of its plan to “instrument the crap out of” Crew Dragon to verify that it’s safe to fly astronauts."" https://static.businessinsider.com/image/5c784bfb26289862f0284e9c-1200.jpg
