Driving to Mars - live feed

Mike Hughes couldn't achieve lift-off, but Elon Musk spent more and SpaceX launched it's Falcon Heavy rocket on Tuesday. https://resources.stuff.co.nz/content/dam/images/1/o/9/g/5/e/image.related.StuffLandscapeSixteenByNine.620x349.1o9ehm.png/1517951227874.jpg https://static.businessinsider.com/image/5a7a32dbcdab5f33008b4956.jpg ""As its test payload, the rocket carried Elon Musk’s 2008 Tesla Roadster, complete with a dummy driver named “Starman” wearing a SpaceX spacesuit. The car is equipped with cameras, and you can watch the Roadster’s journey via a live feed."" https://youtu.be/aBr2kKAHN6M Might take a few seconds for the live feed images to come through ?. But, they're 6 months way from Mars orbit. Plenty of time to keep the UFO's-are-watching-us people distracted. ;) Hmmm. Seems to be a 2hr clip. Not exactly what I would call live ?.
Falcon Heavy rocket had too much grunt. They're gonna overshoot the Mars orbit trajectory and probably wind up in the asteroid belt. A bit of crowing about the display of power, but it looks like a messy end in sight. Unfortunately, the video feed from space only lasted 12 hours from launch, untill the cars batteries died (as expected). http://www.nzherald.co.nz/world/news/article.cfm?c_id=2&objectid=11990083 https://www.businessinsider.com.au/last-photo-of-starman-and-tesla-roadster-after-falcon-heavy-launch-2018-2 https://www.businessinsider.com.au/spacex-falcon-heavy-environmental-impact-space-junk-2018-2
So it its sitting in a tin can..........

Imagery looks a bit fake....and some say it is! ;)
how many people could you feed and put in more hygenic living conditions for the cost of launching a car into space?
Thumbs up

For a 10 year period not that many Maybe 10000. What he spent on this he spends double on charity. Besides the rocket is a commercial operation the car was just his old model he couldnt get a decent trade in on
""... two astronomers – Gianluca Masi of The Virtual Telescope Project and Michael Schwartz of Tenagra Observatories, Ltd. – managed to track down the Tesla using orbit data provided by NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Here’s an annotated photograph of the car as seen through their telescopes on Thursday: https://static.businessinsider.com/image/5a7deb14d03072af008b4e23-1200.jpg The roughly two-ton Roadster was about about 290,000 miles away, or a distance roughly 50,000 miles beyond the orbit of the moon .... According to Musk, the Roadster was set to rocket to a speed of roughly 25,000 miles per hour .... Masi said he and Schwartz will continue to track the Roadster for as long as possible. “The object is slowly fading: you can image it now with a 6″ or so scope,” Masi told Business Insider in an email. “In one month or so it will need a much larger scope to be imaged (16″ or larger).” "" https://www.businessinsider.com/elon-musk-tesla-roadster-photographed-by-telescope-2018-2#eKK1iEdS0mA7FFWB.99 Note: Matthew said he'll look into restoring the "jpg to image" function. :)
I think Musk's big picture is establishing a colony on another planet, because despite our intelligence, we apparently lack the capacity to stop destroying this one. So any stunt that can capture the public's imagination on this line of thinking can be justified. (And what a stunt!)
Establishing a colony on another planet for elites (if it is possible). I suspect if they put as much energy into preventing the destruction of this planet as they do into extraterrestrial developments, they could prevent this danger.
There was a suggestion that if they haven't sanitised everything to space agency standard, there could be interplanetary seeding of Earth bacteria ?. A billion years from now, inteligent life could be arguing the "Santa ClausTheory" of the origins of life.
