Hauhungatahi

There has been a report of blocked access to Hauhungatahi from Erua Road. Has anybody experienced this? Despite appearances, the legal road does not go to the railway line, and trampers have been confronted here. It looks to me like you could follow the railway from the bridge south of Erua Road though. Note: not advocating walking on the railway line, just considering the possibility of following the national park at the edge of the railway reserve. Does anybody know? * [Street view](https://www.google.co.nz/maps/@-39.2272622,175.3983826,3a,60y,116.07h,77.82t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s0jcDkjVKzvtMF35Pqah54Q!2e0!7i13312!8i6656) * [Access map](https://www.wams.org.nz/wams_desktop/index.html?scale=18055.954822&center=1807207.2735,5655156.8196) * [Current route write up](https://tramper.nz/6972)
