Where to find topo print of whole NZ with DOC huts

There's a number of options for downloading sections of topo map off the Interwebs or for scrolling over NZ continuously. If you're not wanting to download such from the Net, any reputable map shop can offer you the Topo250 (1:250,000 scale) or Topo50 (1:50,000 scale) paper maps. What sort of scale did you have in mind? I suspect you'd get lots of the country with topo data and not much else, but certain regions with lots of huts in concentrated places. If it helps, you can visit DOC's GIS system at http://maps.doc.govt.nz/mapviewer/index.html?viewer=docmaps Click the layer button in the lower left of the map and you can get it to show a Topo layer, then you can tick the Huts box and see where all DOC's official public huts are located. Switching on the Public Conservation Areas layer is also quite nifty.

Can you be a bit more precise ? "... large topo map print..." doesn't mean a lot. Maybe explain how you want to use the data? The complete list of huts (& positions) is available (free to download) as a gpx which can be used in any mapping program or GPS. The whole of NZ (LINZ) is available in 1:50,000 topo showing, amongst other things, all DOC huts - free to download in various formats. For paper maps, you'll have to pay (a lot). There are 451 A1 Topo50 sheets. There are also 31 A1 Topo250 sheets but I doubt 1:250,000 would be practical to locate multiple huts.
