Looks clever. But you'd have to wonder about moisture management from breathing, etc. And whether the $9500 price tag includes the platform it's sat on. Wonder if it would meet DOCs minimum standards.
The best thing about this is you have someone with extensive outdoor experience building a practical low cost well designed shelter installed on private land.

Anyone with a brain, the necessary skills and vested interest will always make a sensible shelter because lives depend on it.
I often think if we ever had to recreate NZ's hut system in the current regulatory environment then it would just never happen, or would be vastly smaller and hugely expensive.
