Southern Rata in profusion (early February) on Rhyolite Ridge on the BusTop track to Woolshed Creek Hut on Mt Somers,Mid Canterbury.Overlooking the historic Blackburn Mine site on the normal,shorter track to the hut.Only 40 minutes easyish going from Coalminers Flat carpark to see this spectacular.
