This track is in construction as a dual use cycling and tramping track. Details are on the website.
The first section from Lyell to Lyell Saddle hut opens 2 February 2013. This section is a 50km return trip.
Many of the huts are in construction or still in use by track workers. Lyell Saddle Hut opens 2 February 2013. Mokihinui Forks and Goat Creek Huts are old DOC huts and are open now.
Update, November 2017. Track and huts now complete.
