A new DOC Hut in the Havelock Valley (formally privately owned). Located on the true right of the Havelock just upstream of Growler Creek, near an old airstrip. 8 bunks, water supply and toilet.

Feb 2010 the land owner Malcolm Prouting confirmed that this hut is now a DOC hut. It has been painted and new beds etc. installed and is very comfortable and warm. At the time I visited (mid Feb 2010) the fireplace was not installed but a new hearth etc. has been installed so it looked like the fireplace was next
