Another well maintained hut in the Ikiwhenua Range. This hut has four bunks but is really big enough to have six. DOC are doing stoat control in this area so you have a good chance of seeing whole families of thriving Blue Duck (Whio)

Getting there
|
This is a tough one. The quickest way in over the ridge from Waiohau but it would be virtually impossible to describe where the track enters the National Park from the forestry. If you find this point then it is a good well marked track once in the National Park. If comming from Casino Biv it is a pleasant 2 hour trip down the river, no track. |
