The South Temple valley, looking towards the forks 2km below Sth Temple Hut (hut is up the main valley to the right of the distant peak). A very good 7km track from the roadend to the hut makes this valley and hut a good overnight option for all abilities.

To the left of the peak in the centre, a route climbs to an easy tussock col into the Maitland - a good option for those lacking access permission across farmland in the lower Maitland.
