Below Red Hill

Below Red Hill

Camp site in a gully below Red Hill. The ridge was easy going from Red Hills Hut, across the Plateau, over Chrome, and further on. However the ridge became extremely rough and impassable just prior to 1770, so I opted to sidle around 1770 and descend into the small but flat gully below Red Hill, to its SSW (as Madpom had advised in his posts). There was also a gale south-westerly wind blowing, so I set up camp here. The next morning I made my way back up to the ridge, just west of Red Hill and continued along the ridge past Mt Ellis as outlined. Travel was rough for the first 1 km but became better further on.
