We'd spent 3 days traversing the Craigieburn Range,starting at Ryton Station yard,to the head of Ryton Stream,onto the main range & on to Mt Enys.Our bluebird weather,including a flycamp on Mt Izard,came to a sticky halt when we spied the predicted southerly change on its way.Instead of proceeding to the basin S of Blue Hill,we bailed down a scree well down into Whitewater Stream for night 3 & out to Castle Hill Station for a hitchback to Lake Coleridge.
