This track is a hidden gem of Governors Bay. Combine it with the Ngaio Track for a pleasant loop that explores forest and grassland.
To locate the track, head up Ernest Adams Drive, turn right at the roundabout and continue on to the next bend. The track starts discreetly under trees on the left.
Through a gate, the track leads up a revegetated gully and meets the Ngaio Track junction. Pressing on, the track leads through cool forest and soon crosses the old O'Farrells Track. The track opens onto a clearing before easing leftward into a ferny gully. A side track leads to a clearing and viewpoint, before passing the top end of the Ngaio Track. Out onto grassland, the track zigzags up to meet the South Boundary Track under rocky bluffs.
From here, you may return via the Ngaio Track or follow other South Boundary up to the Summit Road.
