Eldrig peak is situated near Lake Monowai. There's a gravel road going by a short distance away and you can start walking at a car park. On the way up you will pass some nice campsites. The walk up there is well worth it and I recommend starting well before sunrise as it is great to watch the land below getting illuminated by the rising sun. A well marked (markers in the forest, poles further up) track.
