This newish hut completed 2012 is a replacement hut for the old Mt Curtis Hut. The new hut is the result of a community project lead by Warren Inwood. Locals fund raised, built the hut & upgraded the track. DOC made a major contribution by paying for the flying of materials to the site.

The hut location is on a flatish section of ridge just inside the bush edge west of Mt Curtis on the Brunner Range. It is on the TL of Dee Creek at approximately 1160m altitude.
