A private walk on Four Peaks Station in the foothills behind Geraldine. The historic boundary keepers' and musterers' huts used as accommodation on this track are a highlight, and include the stone Sutherland's Hut, built 1966.

This walk follows the route of 1850s sheep musterers. Both 40km / 3 night and 50km / 4 night options are available, along with a separate 60km mountain bike route. Pack cartage is included. Extensive further information is available on the website. 

The route is as follows:

  • Day 1: 14km, 4-6 hours. A vehicle drops you off 15 minutes from the Homestead. From here, head southeast on the Clayton Pack Track past Halfway Hut and Devil's Peak. Bend north up to the Pleasant Gully Hut.
  • Day 2: 15km, 5-7 hours. Head northwest over Fiery Pass (1270m) to Sutherland's Hut on the Mowbray River.
  • Day 3: 9km, 3-5 hours. Head southwest over Jumpover Saddle (1145m) to Devil's Creek Hut.
  • Day 4: 12km, 3.5-5.5 hours. Head west, back to the homestead.

Side trip:

  • From Jumpover Saddle, an ascent of Devils Peak (1587m) is 2-3 hours return.
