This photo was taken autumn 2010 whilst doing a traverse of the higher bumps on the Turiwhate Range. Unlike at the moment the tops were snow free. There are some areas of smoothish rock that are nicer going when dry rather than when thinly dusted with snow & ice which can happen in winter & spring.

Prominent in the vista are Mts Rangi Taipo & Alexander, the lower Taipo River, Taramakau River, Inchbonnie farmland and the Evans River & saddle with the Haupiri River. Views in other directions are just as good or better!
