Getting there
Getting there
The bivvy is on former pastoral lease land near the St James Cycle Trail. At the bottom of the descent from Charlies Saddle down to the Waiau, a 4WD track leaves the road by a blue cycle way marker post. 35m down this track a pink cruise taped route begins. Or walk up or down the Edwards River to Stony Stream and then up Stony Stream to the bivvy. A Billy lid attached to a beech tree on the TL of the stream marks where to leave the creek and climb up on to the low terrace where the biv is.
