Past the camping ground in West Bay, the Mount Robert Road crosses a bridge. Park just before the bridge. The Anglers Walk sets off from here, following the turbulent Buller River from its source. The track passes under kanuka scrub, and over old, open moraines, with mere glimpses of the roaring river through the trees. Anglers' tracks lead off at intervals to the water's edge.

The track ends at the bridge on the main highway. From here, you can return the way you came, or follow the highway about 3km back to St Arnaud.
