This pic shows the old homestead near the Landsborough - Haast confluence. It's on the TL of the Landsborough River and roughly east of Clarke Bluff on the Haast Pass highway on the opposite side of the Haast River. This homestead is now derelict but is still capable of providing good shelter. The woodburner stove has been removed.

A 4x4 track passes the old homestead. This track starts on the eastern side of the Pleasant Flat bridge and carries on as far as Strutt Bluff a distance of approx 12km.

There is a detour off this track just beyond Parasite Creek when heading toward Strutt Bluff that goes to an old Internal Affairs hut. This legacy from deer destruction days is in poor condition.
