glennj JH & I went and had a look at this hut yesterday and noted that it is indeed a replica miners hut that was built in 1999. It's set in a nice location on the edge a largish clearing amongst tall regeneration native bush. There are interpretation panals outside the hut telling of the areas goldmining history.

glennj I didn't know this hut existed. Will go and have a look some time. It looks a bit like a replica/reconstruction of a miners hut along the lines of the Garden Gully hut in the Croesus area.
