7 Mile Hut
Grotty old NZFS 6 bunker I think. Was gutted internally but now has had 2 bunks installed - possibly by a possum hunter who was ensconced in the early winter of 2011. No other refurbishments noted. Frequently being used now that the goldminers have built a magnificent 4WD road to it and beyond up the Taipo valley to 7 Mile Creek. It has additional innersprung mattresses. The magnificent road has been a bit affected by floods so bits of it require a 4WD as there are a few boulders about. Frank did a bit of work with a pickaxe in June 2012 on the bit that drops off the big casueway.
