The view down the Aparima to Aparima Forks from the valley head on the Takitimu Main Range. A 2-bunk hut (Takitimu Forks Hut) sits at the forks of Nth and Sth Aparima Creek. Travel down either fork is simple from the main divide with good animal tracks throiugh beech in both. Below the hut the valley is tracked to Aparima Huts and on to the Dunrobin Roadend.

The ridgeline between the two forks in very hard going - lots of exposed scrambles, then thick stunted forest - not recommended. The Takitimu main range south, however, was excellent going, though lots of ups and downs to each peak.
