Tutaekuri hut
A replacement for the old Tutaekuri Junction hut. Recently built in 2008. (the junction hut has been removed) This hut is 15 - 20 mins up the Tutaekuri from the junction with the Trent River. It is on the TL, in a clearing created amongst tall beech forest. A nice hut!

1/ Up the Ahaura & Tutaekuri Rivers from Waikiti Station. 4x4 tracks the whole way but often washed out at the river crossings. 2.5 - 3.5 hrs walking at normal river levels. 2/From Top Hope Hut via Hope Pass 6.5 - 7.5 hrs. 3/From the Haupiri & Trent Rivers via Trent Saddle 9+hrs from Elizabeth hut. |
