Crosbies Hut
Coromandel Forest Park
A new hut just opened on 1st September 2010. Located at a nice spot at Crosbies Clearing with spectacular view of both Table Mountain in the south and Camel Back Rock in the north.
For further information about these tracks please contact the Kauaeranga Valley Visitor Centre, Coromandel Forest Park.
Fees: $15.30 adult/night, $5.10 youth/night (11-17 years), children free (0-10 years)
Bookings must be made via the online booking system or through the Kauaeranga Visitor Centre well before your trip.

Getting there
|
Crosbies Hut can be accessed from a number of tracks off the Thames-Coromandel Highway, with two access points from Thames township, one off the Thames Coast Highway (SH 25), one off the Tapu-Coroglen Rd and one from the Kauaeranga Valley. Either from Tapu Coroglen Road follow Te Puru Track to Crosbies Clearing(3.5 hrs mostly downhill), or from Wainora Kauri Track(4.5 hrs mostly uphill), or Kuaeranga Valley campsite(3.5 hrs mostly uphill), or either Thames or Tararu(4.5 hrs mostly uphill). |
