Studholme Saddle Bivouac is a wee dog-box bivvy in a clump of beech at the forks of the Kiwi Creek, below the Studholm Saddle. It sleeps 2-3 on 2 mattresses on the floor. The inside of the biv was very damp mid-winter, but definitely not an issue in summer.

The biv and brightly painted longdrop are clearly visible from the main ridge track. Good routes drop from most surrounding peaks to the biv, and a poled track leads to the small summit halfway between Studholm Saddle and Mackintosh Spur.

10 minutes up the left-hand fork from the biv is the larger and more comfortable Studholm Saddle Hut. However, the biv makes a good overflow spot if the hut is busy.
