Kea Basin Bivvy - Mt.Earnslaw

Kea Basin Bivvy - Mt.Earnslaw

This is one of the best bivvy rocks i've seen. Situated at appx 1060m on the north flank of Mt.Earnslaw. Accessed from river flats on the Rees valley floor at appx 500m. Earnslaw Hut is only 80m below but is old and set in beech forest with less open space around. The rock bivvy has flowing water right outside for most of the year and can comfortably sleep 8 people.
