Cromel Branch Hut (4 bunks, fireplace, stream water, firewood available) is a 4-bunk forestry style hut in a fork of the Cromel valley in the Eyre Mountains, Southland. The hut sits close to the creek on tussock flats, surrounded by low beech valleysides. Up-valley things get more interesting, with alpine routes to the Helen Peaks and Islands Hut. Tracks lead to Cromel Base, Irthing Hut and the Mt Bee Ridge.
