Getting there

Can be accessed from the Mackenzie Stream track to Mackenzie Hut. You turn off at the confluence with the East Branch and make your own way to the Bivvy. There is no useful cut track or marked route though long ago there was! You can climb sidle, then drop sidle up the TR to reach the Biv or go up the creek. This latter method would be no good if the creek was up. DOC say it takes 2½ hrs but you could get there in one hr from the confluence if you knew the route. As a first timer it took 1¼ hrs. |
